Calculate Engagement Rate (ER)

ER will be displayed here

The Engagement Rate is a metric that helps evaluate how much the audience interacts with content. It can be calculated in various ways depending on the goals and platform, but the basic formula is as follows:

General formula:

\[ \text{Engagement Rate} = \frac{\text{Engaged Actions (likes, comments, shares, clicks)}}{\text{Total users (reach or followers)}} \times 100 \]

The most common metrics for calculation include:

  1. Likes
  2. Comments
  3. Shares
  4. Link clicks
  5. Views

Example calculation:

If you have a post on Facebook that received:

  • Views or reach: 5000

Then the engagement rate calculation would be:

\[ \text{Engagement Rate} = \frac{200 + 50 + 25}{5000} \times 100 = \frac{275}{5000} \times 100 = 5.5\% \]

Variations:

  • Based on followers: If you want to calculate engagement for the entire page, use the number of followers instead of reach.
  • Based on individual actions: You can calculate engagement for just comments or shares if that’s more relevant to your analysis.

The engagement rate helps assess how effective content is in generating interaction with the audience.
